  • What do you want to achieve? My main goal with this project is to provide a fast and accessible tool that provides counsel and assists in initiating legal proceedings in domestic violence disputes.

  • What is the outcome of an interaction with the chatbot? What does the person leave with? First of all, it is important to understand what role the chatbot must play. We think that most users will use this product with either one of two intentions: emotional guidance and support and/or technical and legal steps. For the former, the LLM we use is prepped to provide self-help techniques and our database also has hooks on how to properly identify domestic violence and abuse. For the latter, our database and LLM we use have information of how to initiate court proceedings, steps to file relevant orders/notices/documents, Our database also has relevant case law and can cite legal precedence.

• Roll out the primitive product to get feedback from experts in domestic violence and also people from the IT field (feedback on the UI), send it out to shelters, advocate offices, and other places as a ‘beta’ testing. 2 types of feedback: project as a whole (functioning of chatbot, relevancy of answers, etc.) and logistical feedback (based on UI, and technical aspects). 

• Outcome is the feedback and improvement of the original chatbot.

FINAL REVISIONS/MODIFICATIONs & ROLL OUT

• Make changes before deploying. Ensure that everything is functioning and that the server is stable. 

• Outcome is a fully functional chatbot with stable servers. 

USER FEEDBACK 

• Include email for user queries and to offer feedback. Allow a quick survey following chatbot conversation. 

• Challenges: Implementing feedback following bet testing, making our product and getting people to use it, maintaining servers for longer period of time
